March 20, 2011: Coastal Assault 40K Battle for RedemptionAttention all 40k Wargamers: The air at Coastal Assault was filled with the broken hearts and dreams of what might have been. The should have, would have, could have stories are still being told weeks later. Whether it was the mission, table, or match up, you deserve a second chance! This will be a local standard format tournament with the following rules: Rounds: 3 Points: 1850 Objectives: Bring 3 markers 40mm (Terminator base size) Sportsmanship Scores: No Painting Scores: No Missions: Adepticon Primer < http://www.adepticon.org/wpfiles/2011/201140KChampPrimer.pdf> Please pay attention to how these missions are scored as this is the new 40k tournament standard. Each mission has 3 separate objectives with victory points as a tie breaker. Instead of fighting over one mission type for the entire game, (i.e. kill points) you have 3 separate objective types to fight over all at the same time (i.e. table quarters, kill points, and objective markers). Custom build your forces for the scenarios, play test them as much as you like, and get ready to throw some dice. Three out of the four missions will be used; probably not all three kill point variants, but you should familiarize yourself with all four missions. Beware: we cannot toss a fantasy tournament in the corner again to distract Carter, so add a little extra cheddar to your list and don’t let him win another tournament. He doesn’t need any more Space Wolves anyway. 01. Carter: Space Wolves 02. Ryan: Blood Angels 03. Gabe: Dark Eldar 04. Mark: Eldar 05. Kyle: CSM: World Eaters 06. Dan: Imperial Guard 07. Thomas: Blood Angels 08. Mike: Tyranids 09. Marc: Sisters of Battle 10. Opiee: Eldar 11. Wes: Imperial Guard 12. Jeff: Daemons

What time does the tourny start? Depends on if I can make it or not due to scheduling. If the time is early enough, I can make it with time to spare for sleeping before shift.

Tourneys usually start around 9, or 10 depending on what time we can get in the store. Note that I changed the date from the 26th to the 20th due to conflicting schedules with the pensacola store.

Steve said there's a tournament at the Pcola store that is 2000pts. Was that incorrect, and is this what he was meaning to tell us?
Fighting 1500 and 2000pt lists lately has been a welcome change from the 1850s people have used for the past 6 months in preparation for Coastal Assault. :\

The 40k tourney in Pensacola will be the weekend after.
These missions are nothing like the games you have been playing for the past six months.
Also this will probably be the last 1850 tournament of 2011. This will give you one more chance to get that nicely painted army of yours on the table before we wrap up the format and shake things up a bit.
April is the fantasy Ard Boyz but expect another team tournament and some smaller point games coming back in May. I would like to run a 1500 pointer, maybe another Combat Patrol, Kill Zone, or just a 750 tournament.
