 We started this whole
TBS Comics thing back in 1985. My step father (Tom) was a comic reader as a
youth and enjoyed many of the Marvel silver age comics. He decided one day that
it would be fun to open a store and offer what was lacking in the local area, a
cool comic store! I was only in middle school at the time, but spent much of my
time working on the weekends. With the hard work of my mother (Rose) and a lot
of luck, TBS Comics has grown to what it is today. We started with a folding
card table and a couple of boxes of comics. Now we have thousands of comics and
everything else you can imagine. I would have never dreamed that 18 years later,
we would still even be in business.
An obviously large part of our success is due to our customers. We have a
fabulous customer base that we consider part of the TBS Comics family. If you
have ever hung out at TBS Comics, you know what I am talking about. One of our
goals is to create a great culture by listening to our customers request
and ideas and building upon them. In order to offer the best shopping experience
you have to have a dynamite employee team. I think we have a fantastic team both
in Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola.
